Home Brewing 101
INSTRUCTOR: Richard Pidgeon. The Instructor’s demonstrations and hands-on exercises prepare students to brew and bottle beer at home. Brewing equipment, malt extracts, specialty grains, hops, yeasts, additives, sanitizing, fermentation, measuring and calculating alcohol %, bottling and record keeping are explained and demonstrated in class. Students receive a discount on supplies the day of class. Saturday, 6/2/12 from 9:30am-1:30pm $25.00 (all-inclusive)
Garnishing Class
INSTRUCTOR: Charles Craig - This Course covers: the art of melon balling, vegetable tray assembly, and other preparations for your home entertaining. Additionally, students will learn how to cut an attractive cantaloupe and the instructor will demonstrate a large melon fruit carving centerpiece.Saturday 6/30/12 from 2pm-5pm $55.00 (supplies included) Each Student brings a cutting board
High Heeled Shoe Cake Class
INSTRUCTOR: Ginger Soave - Learn how to create your own fondant high-heeled shoe & shoe box which will be decorated in your choice of colors/patterns. This popular, fun design is sure to be a hit! Saturdays 6/9/12 & 6/16/12 from 9am-12pm $60.00 + supplies
Rolled Fondant
INSTRUCTOR:AnnaBelle Eversole - This hands-on class teaches: Learning proper European Methods to cover your cake with Marzipan & Rolled Fondant as well as English piping techniques & Australian Crimping. Saturday 6/23/12 from 9am-12pm $75.00 + a few supplies
Cake Decorating I & II
INSTRUCTOR:AnnaBelle Eversole - This hands-on Course Covers: icings, flowers, borders, frosting a cake, sugar molding, writing, basket weaving, etc. Saturdays: 7/14/12 thru 7/28/12 from 9am-12pm $69.50 + supplies
Topsy Turvy Cake Class
INSTRUCTOR: Ginger Soave The student will create a 3-tier fondant covered cake. Proper structuring, stacking, carving techniques will be shown. SATURDAY 7/14/12 from 2pm-5:30pm $65.00 + supplies
Smooth Butter Cream Demo
INSTRUCTOR: Ginger Soave. This 2 hour demonstration shows Ginger’s “crusting” butter cream icing method. Ginger will prepare, level, stack, ice and finish using her unique recipe and smoothing techniques. Class members will receive a copy of the tutorial and all recipes. We will open the store to students if they wish to shop for the ingredients after class. Thursday, 6/21/12 from 6-8pm $25.00
MILITARY CAKE DECORATING COURSE
(For Active Military Food Industry Personnel ONLY, not for dependents) 3 day course (22 hrs. TOTAL): We furnish all supplies!! Learn Course I thru III (Beginner’s thru Advanced) in only three days! Students keep complete decorating kit, book, hand-outs, recipes, and cakes. This hands-on course covers (time permitting): icings, leveling, flowers, borders, leaves, sugar molding, piping gel, lattice cake top design, writing, tiered cake construction, airbrush, chocolate moldings, wafer paper and edible image use, etc. Contact Chris @ ext. 22 for more information on our 2012 sessions.
