Used to improve drainage: during all-grain brewing, some adjuncts, like wheat or oats can have a congealing effect that may clog grain beds when mashing out. Add rice hulls (no more than 5% of the total grain bill) to help increase the drainage of the grain bed. Rice hulls will not impart flavor or aroma to the finished beer.
